Hi, it's Veronika here!

The world out there is full of amazing stories of warm-hearted people who are not afraid to get out of their comfort zone.

Recently I read an inspirational story from a member of UK Vegan Facebook group, Lauren, who showed a lot of compassion where many others would just turn their heads away.
I have asked Lauren to tell me the story so I can share it with you here.
Lauren?

fake world of discounts piggy laughsHi, it's Veronika here!

As you may have noticed, this blog is named Veronika (that's my name) Honestly (that's how I talk to you). One of the main things which led me to choose this name is how false the behaviour in businesses can be, mainly all these "good deals" and "amazing discounts".

Spoiler alert - there's a real deal at the end of this article to demonstrate how I feel about discounts. So you can scroll down, but I appreciate it if you read the article too =)

Amongst other issues, I want to speak about my pricing politics, especially when compared to what I was taught in my marketing courses and so on (because yeah, I may be mathematician with a degree but I had no idea how to run a business, so you bet I've been through some training!). So many times what I learned was clashing with one thing that I strongly believe, and call me naive but it's how I live - to be straightforward.

vegan design certified cruelty free

Hi, it's Veronika here!

Today I have amazing news for you. I've been vegan for a good few couples of years, but I wanted to take things further in my business and learn more. The more I know the more knowledge I can share further. I decided to take a vegan design course to get a certificate provided by VeganDesign. I've learned a hefty amount of facts, both sad (such as current leather and fur industry practices) and inspiring (new exciting plant-based and man-made materials we can now use and completely forget using animals in the design/clothing/fashion industry).

What does it mean? Now I can "show-off" that all my products are really vegan and cruelty-free - simply as they were until now, so actually not much change here =)) But I learned a lot of useful things I can now use further in my home decor business adventure. And that's worth it!

kapok ceiba pentandra magicful homeHi, it's Veronika here!

I'll cut to the chase: For the sake of my Rainbow Sea Turtle Pillow Covers, I decided to find the best vegan and eco-friendly pillow inserts. As you may have read in my previous article, pillows - as much as they may look completely innocent - are actually pretty hard to be both vegan and eco-friendly at the same time.

UPDATE: Watch a video - how to stuff your pillow with kapok!

My pillow research led me to something called 'kapok tree fibres' - a soft padding around the seeds of a tropical tree called kapok or in Latin Ceiba Pentandra - with such lovely colourful flowers as you can see on the picture. And I must say, WOW! There really is an organic, unbleached, non-allergenic, natural, cruelty-free and sustainable alternative to down, cotton and polyester fibres - the three most common pillow stuffings.

Veronika Honestly coconutsHi, it's Veronika here!

I have to say, I feel very lucky that I have no allergies - touch wood* - so I can freely enjoy nuts. Especially coconuts.

This has been on my mind for a while: Everywhere I look I'm shocked by the amount of chemical cosmetic stuff people (ladies especially, I'd say) put on their skin, and mostly what you need is simply just coconut oil! =) It saves me so much money (ok, extra virgin cold pressed ultra-posh coconut oil costs something but I still spend less than using loads of cosmetics) and it saves you from unnecessary chemicals. That's a good deal, isn't it? Plus it's environmentally friendlier than all the manufactured stuff with loads of additives. Simply all positives.

Let me tell you about my experiences and give you some tips when using coconut oil...

Hi, it's Veronika, your vegan friend and content creator of Veronika Honestly (no, not my surname).
I'm mathemagician (making money as maths tutor! ?), a bit of an artist (well, trying to get back to art) and also animal and adventure lover.
Get to know me on my About page and make sure you sign up for my newsletter to get my free printable greeting cards for vegans I made for everyone to use and spread the vegan word!

See you around and on my social media - stay in touch!

Thank you for reading this whole article =) I have a few things to mention here:

Firstly, if not already mentioned in the article, I would like you to know about my Honest Language Disclaimer (no, it's not about profanity) - in case you were wondering why my English is so weird and not Oxford-dictionary perfect (whose English is, anyway...)

Secondly, my post may contain affiliate links. Namely Etsy and Amazon links. If you click through and buy anything there, I will get a small commission, so you are basically helping me to reach the goals, to raise funds for animals sanctuaries. All of that at no extra cost to you or the seller. It's a win-win =)

Now, in the end, I have a tiny request: If you liked this post, could you please share this?
Sharing helps to keep my costs down so more can go towards animal charities and perhaps you'll make one's day by showing them something from this blog they will like to read! A share from you would seriously help a lot with the growth of this blog that focuses on spreading the vegan word and kindness - just the things you also care about =)

You may like to pin some graphics from here, you may want to share it to your blog (do you have a vegan-themed blog? Let me know, let's collaborate!) or to your favourite Facebook group... there are plenty of choices!

Thank you for your support!

And... what now?

If you read all of the above, then, by all means, you're awesome for reading it all! And I believe you are interested at least a bit in my work here - I'd say we may have a thing or two in common! =)

Let's stay connected - sign up for my newsletter and don't miss any big and interesting news from me, tips and ideas on how to get on with your vegan journey as well as how to spread the vegan awareness (I do it the friendly way).
There's always something going on here. Be a part of it.

And don't forget about my free printable greeting cards for animal lovers and a discount on my products - only for subscribers!
