Hi there, it's Veronika! I'm SO excited about today's article!
I'm going to talk about a very specific art branch (pun intended) - I'm going to be talking about Tree of Life.

A Tree of Life art is something I've been drawn to ever since I've discovered it. I really like trees a lot (at home, we plant and grow trees from wild seeds found in nature - hoping to find for them some forever home one day - but that day is still far away). There's something special about them - it's not only the joy of walking through a forest and resting in a shadow of a tree after a long walk. Trees are life supporters, indeed - they give a lot of oxygen and lock up masses of CO2. A single tree can host a full micro-ecosystem - even after it dies... So I find Tree of Life a beautiful celebration of these nature giants.
That's how I see it, anyway =)

Although the real meaning of Tree of Life is supposed to be "a symbol of a fresh start on life, positive energy, good health and a bright future" Also "a symbol of immortality" which is represented by the fact that even though trees grow old, they bear seeds that contain their "very essence" so technically trees become immortal.
Basically Tree of Life is "a symbol of growth and strength".

Face Mask for Virus Protection during Self Isolation Veronika HonestlyHi there, it's Veronika, in case you didn't recognise me with my hand-stitched face mask on - who'd guess that coronavirus will be dictating us what to wear...

So it has come to that - I'm talking coronavirus on my blog. I guess there's not much way around it. Let's cut to the chase, I'm going to write about how to make your own face mask. You don't need a sewing machine, just basic sewing skills, needle, thread and a heavy-weight fabric.

Although my youth was evolving around the '90s, I'm not a crazy denim fan. But my partner who walks dogs for living goes through a pair of jeans on a regular basis and even my "holes patching" evenings that I casually hold time to time can't give them more than a few more months (at best), so I have an abundance of ripped jeans at home 'for later'.
So I made yesterday a face mask from one of those old jeans (about a half a leg was used for one mask).

Let me show you how I did it.

Hi, it's Veronika here and I'm wondering...
I've stumbled upon a term anti-waste while researching Aloe Arborescens (that's a story for another day) and it hit me. Is this a thing? You can hear everywhere zero-waste (on my blog too, yeah, of course), and also see how hardcore zero-wasters, on one hand, show that they accrued merely a half jar of waste over a decade but a moment after you hear them confessing "why I stopped being zero-waste" and how impossible it actually is (for really, practically everyone).
Shall you not try to live a zero-waste life then? Shall you feel continuously disappointed that your efforts are not met with success as you actually still somehow produce waste no matter how hard you try?
(Well, have you tried to blend amongst a group of monkeys and live like a modern Tarzan or Jane...? That may work...)

I'm either ridiculously behind and was living under a rock or anti-waste is some new thing.
Probably none of it though... It's just something I do while desperately trying to be zero-waste. I'm definitely anti-waste, but was never thinking about it that way.

Being anti-waste is a thing EVERYONE can do.

Let's just do a quick google search about "anti-waste" just to make sure I'm getting it right and won't be accidentally trolling instead =)

Mother's Day 2020 at Veronika HonestlyHi there, it's Veronika!

Although I celebrate two Mother's Days a year (one in March as that's when it's celebrated here in the UK and one in May as that's when it's celebrated in my home country), most of the time we don't celebrate this with my mum together due to our location. We have always a nice video call, we both make ourselves a cup of tea or coffee and have a long chat about all the news that happened since we talked last time. And because we both agreed we want to be as eco-friendly as possible, we don't ship each other gifts anymore - we take them with us we travel to visit each other (we do this with my other family members too).

So I'm not in the need to shop for any gifts at a specific time (if so, I do it before I travel) but I was thinking this year, what would I want to get for Mother's day myself... from my kids... perhaps one day, when I have them =)
I love browsing Etsy, I mostly enjoy all the handmade crafts made from natural resources, of course without any usage of animal products. But I wouldn't want my kids to have to pay too much money. So I'm looking today for something natural, vegan and eco-friendly... let's say under £30 (assuming my potential kids in this scenario are already grown-ups or their father actually helped them to pay for it).

Ok, let's look what's on Etsy...

Hi, it's Veronika here!

I'm always looking for interesting people and learning about the work they do. Recently, I've met Glenn. He felt that there are not enough books that would explain to children why animals are friends, not food. He and his colleague decided to create a book to fill this gap while they said "both of us are attorneys, so this book is a labor of love to spread the word. If we make any profit at all, we will donate it to animal sanctuaries." Which is also why I wanted to write about their book and help them to spread the word.

For those who don't want to wait and are keen to check out the book, please find it here.
Now, let me tell you who's behind the making of this vegan-friendly children book and why I find this book so good.

Hi, it's Veronika, your vegan friend and content creator of Veronika Honestly (no, not my surname).
I'm mathemagician (making money as maths tutor! ?), a bit of an artist (well, trying to get back to art) and also animal and adventure lover.
Get to know me on my About page and make sure you sign up for my newsletter to get my free printable greeting cards for vegans I made for everyone to use and spread the vegan word!

See you around and on my social media - stay in touch!

Thank you for reading this whole article =) I have a few things to mention here:

Firstly, if not already mentioned in the article, I would like you to know about my Honest Language Disclaimer (no, it's not about profanity) - in case you were wondering why my English is so weird and not Oxford-dictionary perfect (whose English is, anyway...)

Secondly, my post may contain affiliate links. Namely Etsy and Amazon links. If you click through and buy anything there, I will get a small commission, so you are basically helping me to reach the goals, to raise funds for animals sanctuaries. All of that at no extra cost to you or the seller. It's a win-win =)

Now, in the end, I have a tiny request: If you liked this post, could you please share this?
Sharing helps to keep my costs down so more can go towards animal charities and perhaps you'll make one's day by showing them something from this blog they will like to read! A share from you would seriously help a lot with the growth of this blog that focuses on spreading the vegan word and kindness - just the things you also care about =)

You may like to pin some graphics from here, you may want to share it to your blog (do you have a vegan-themed blog? Let me know, let's collaborate!) or to your favourite Facebook group... there are plenty of choices!

Thank you for your support!

And... what now?

If you read all of the above, then, by all means, you're awesome for reading it all! And I believe you are interested at least a bit in my work here - I'd say we may have a thing or two in common! =)

Let's stay connected - sign up for my newsletter and don't miss any big and interesting news from me, tips and ideas on how to get on with your vegan journey as well as how to spread the vegan awareness (I do it the friendly way).
There's always something going on here. Be a part of it.

And don't forget about my free printable greeting cards for animal lovers and a discount on my products - only for subscribers!
